Today’s Life-study of Mark focuses on the Lord’s feasting with sinners, as the second way that He carried out His gospel service (Mk. 2:13-17). Witness Lee reviews the calling of Matthew who followed Him and spread a great feast. We see the revelation of Christ as the real Physician, who forgives sins and brings people into the enjoyment of God.

The third way the Slave-Saviour carried out His gospel service involves His bringing joy to His followers without fasting (Mk. 2:18-22). The vivid contrast between the requirements and demands of religion and the unveiling of Christ as the bridegroom, the new cloth and the new wine are connected together in a most enlightening way. This weekly highlight programme is taken from Tuesday. Mark 1 shows us not only what the gospel is but also its rich contents. We will see how this chapter is divided into five sections - each illustrating the rich contents of the gospel service of Jesus Christ the Son of God. These include His preaching, teaching, casting out demons, healing and cleansing.
Witness Lee explains two further ways that the Lord carried out His gospel service. In Mk. 2:23-28 we see that He cared for His followers hunger instead of religion’s regulation; then, in 3:1-6 we see how He cared for the relief of the suffering one rather than the ritual of religion. Through these five cases we see a complete picture of a fully saved person!
