Rapper A Star: I stood on these grounds mourning now Im back rejoicing

Chantelle J: What was your experience like performing at Big Church Day Out this year?

A Star: It was amazing, I really enjoyed it! You could tell that people were really happy to be there after so many years of not being able to gather and go to festivals. I felt like the atmosphere was warm, everyone just wanted to thank God for bringing us through lockdown. Plus, the good weather was a benefit to us that day!

Chantelle J: What was it like being backstage with all the Gospel artists?

A Star: It was great, one of my best experiences at Big Church Day Out is being able to spend time with the other artists. My good friend Faith Child was there, J Vessel came and did a song with me. People really appreciated us performing together. I got to meet Limo Blaze, weve spoken online before but weve never met in person so I got to meet him for the first time! And it was good to catch up with Lecrae.

Chantelle J: You went to the festival with your wife and your two little children. What was it like going to the festival with your family?

A Star: The last time we stepped foot at Big Church Day Out my wife was miscarrying and that was around the fourth time she had a miscarriage. So, it was amazing to be there again and celebrate with our two girls and our family as well. It was a testimony for us, my wife wrote a post about it on social media saying we stood on these same grounds mourning and now were back today rejoicing. We are very grateful. For us, the weekend was a time of gratitude and thankfulness to God and a fun time too!

I really want to make it a tradition to bring my children to Big Church Day Out and festivals like that, where they can see that there are Christians who love the Lord and are also having a good time.
