Back in 2014 a vision was conceived to provide a platform to promote UK Christian & Gospel music in a way never done before, with founder O'Neil Dennis, a relatively new believer at the time, fuelled by a lasting passion for music, Christ and a strong desire to serve.
As the seeds of innovation were sown, AStepFWD emerged, birthing an exceptional movement that would amplify talent, celebrate creativity, and inspire countless individuals across the United Kingdom and beyond. As we approach March 2024, AStepFWD and the UK Christian Charts proudly commemorate their remarkable ten-year journey, a decade defined by unparalleled dedication to showcasing the best in homegrown Christian and Gospel music.
Over the past ten years, AStepFWD has evolved into a dynamic community, fostering connections and collaborations among artists, songwriters, musicians, producers, industry experts, music enthusiasts, churches and other organisations. Its commitment to supporting and uplifting the Christian and Gospel music industry has been unwavering, propelling talent into the limelight and providing a platform for diverse voices and music genres to be heard.
A pivotal component of AStepFWD’s legacy is the UK Christian Charts which now cover twelve different music genres including rapidly growing Afrobeats and Gospel Rap, with fresh new talent emerging continually while more established artists continue to pioneer the scene. This innovative ranking system has been instrumental in spotlighting the top Christian music releases, serving as a barometer of excellence and influence within the industry, while introducing faith based music to a whole new generation.
For the past three years, AStepFWD has successfully launched StepFWD Awards, the UK's 'Dove meets Stellar' style celebration of Christian & Gospel music, providing another opportunity celebrate talent while engaging new audiences and creating unity.
And to mark its 10th aniversay, AStepFWD organised a series of special events, exclusive releases, and collaborations are in the pipeline. There will be fresh initiatives, engaging content and opportunities for artists and fans alike to celebrate this momentous occasion throughout the year. In addition a crowdfund has been launched to raise £10,000 to propel AStepFWD into the next decade positioned to better serve the artists while furthering the gospel through the power of music to touch hearts, especially in individuals who may not be inclined to step inside a church.
