Nottingham Forest striker Taiwo Awoniyi is currently in an induced coma following a severe abdominal injury sustained during a Premier League match against Leicester City on Sunday. The 27-year-old Nigerian international collided with the goalpost in the 88th minute while attempting to reach a cross.

Despite the impact, Awoniyi continued playing until the final whistle. Subsequent medical evaluations revealed significant abdominal trauma, necessitating emergency surgery. Post-operation complications led doctors to place him in a medically induced coma to aid his recovery.
