GRAMMY-nominated and award-winning Forrest Frank made headlines this week by announcing on social media that he will no longer accept awards for his music. In his post, Frank reflected, “As Christians, it’s hard to know where the line is in the sand between being in the world and not of the world.”
He went on to share his hope of setting an example for young believers, saying, “The trophy is our salvation… the trophy is that my name is listed in the Book of Life and I get to have eternal life.”

Frank’s decision has sparked widespread conversation and support from fellow artists and fans. Gospel legend CeCe Winans encouraged him, saying, “Stay true to your convictions!! ❤️🙌🏽.” Latin gospel artist Ada Betsabe praised Frank’s integrity: “Bro, this means more because it’s coming from you… yet you’d rather surrender your ‘rights’ and obey God. This speaks.”
While others like Jelly Roll questioned how this aligns with profiting from music., offered a thoughtful perspective, noting, “I love that you said, ‘I don’t want to get a trophy for something that’s from Jesus for Jesus’—which is awesome—but also make millions of dollars doing that same thing.”
Frank’s announcement has prompted renewed discussion about recognition, humility, and purpose in Christian music.
Lord, we pray for wisdom, humility, and discernment for all artists seeking to honour You above all else. May their lives and music point others to Christ, and may Your name be glorified in every platform and opportunity. Amen
