After recently cancelling his much-anticipated appearance in Trinidad, Vybz Kartel is shifting focus from controversy to faith, releasing a brand new single that marks another step on his journey of redemption. This time, the renowned entertainer has ventured into gospel, expressing his devotion to God and a desire to be “used as a vessel” in his latest track.
The new single, "Glory of Jesus," is a contemporary take on a beloved classic by veteran gospel group Grace Thrillers. Kartel opens the song with a heartfelt prayer: “Dear Lord, I want you to use me as a vessel, Lord to spread your word and your gospel to the ends of the world. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen,” before blending his signature style with the timeless gospel melody.
Within just four hours of its release on Monday, "Glory of Jesus" garnered nearly 50,000 views on YouTube, drawing praise from fans who celebrated Kartel’s positive musical direction since his release from prison. Many listeners commended his commitment to faith, noting visible changes in his music and message. “I can’t believe Vybz Kartel is talking about Jesus like this. Man is totally reformed. Jesus is Lord indeed,” one fan remarked on YouTube. Another shared, “Vybz Kartel has fulfilled the part of his promise where he said he wouldn’t stop praising God if he gives him a second chance.”
"Glory of Jesus" follows Kartel’s previous faith-inspired release, "God is the Greatest," which has amassed an impressive 9.5 million YouTube views to date.

Reflecting on his journey, Kartel told the Jamaica Observer that during his 13-year incarceration, he prayed daily for redemption and promised to continue praising God if granted a new beginning. “When I was in prison, I literally prayed to God and said, Father God, if you get me out of this situation, I’ll never stop praising you, never stop calling your name. I talked to God, read my Bible, and He answered my prayer. I’m forever grateful for that. I even have ‘love God’ tattooed on my face, twice,” he shared.
True to his promise, Kartel closes "Glory of Jesus" with gratitude and a vow to keep calling on the Lord’s name: “Thank you, Lord, for everything you’ve done to me and everything you’ve done for me. Father God, I just wanna give you praises. Praise your holy name. Lord, I’m thankful for my countless blessings, and I’ll never stop calling your name. Amen.”
With his latest release, Vybz Kartel continues to blend his musical legacy with a renewed sense of faith, using his platform to share messages of hope, gratitude, and transformation.
