After a jibe at Jada her husband, Will Smith, leapt to her defence and slapped him in the face. A shell shocked Chris continued the ceremony as Will was shouting from the audience.
On the Gospel breakfast show this morning Belinda was joined by actor, presenter Tony Aris to discuss whether they thought it was real: "seeing this footage there's no doubt that it was real, I think as much as Will Smith is a deserved Oscar winner as an actor, he ain't that good, he's great but that was extremely convincing."
