Dr. Hikmat Kashouh is the senior pastor of Resurrection Church Beirut and a respected scholar in Middle Eastern Christianity. Through his scholarly work and his book The Arabic Versions of The Gospels he sought to keep the arabic Christian tradition alive to for his generation and the next.
He was born during Lebanon’s civil war, experiencing bombing and displacement firsthand. His faith led him to earn a PhD in Textual Criticism from the University of Birmingham in the UK and served as Academic Dean at the Arab Baptist Theological Seminary.
In 2008 he says he received a divine assignment to grow the church where he was. There are now 44 congregations in Lebanon. He's a man who believes Christianity is indigenous to the Arab world and that Christianity and his faith was born in the soil where he lives.
