The Story of the Messiah

A series of reflections based on Handel’s Messiah, written and presented by David Winters, with readings by Julia Fisher. First broadcast on Premier Christian Radio in December 1999/January 2000, in the lead-up to the new Millennium The Hallelujah Chorus - and Handel’s Messiah, in which it is appears - is one of the most well known pieces of classical music in history. But not everyone might realise that all the words sung in the Messiah are taken from Scripture. In this series of reflections, David explores the themes covered in some of the best-known songs from Handel’s famous oratorio.
