Life is more than just what we see and feel with our five senses. We need food and water on the physical level, but we also need God’s grace to sustain our spiritual lives. Jesus, who is grace in human form, provides us with spiritual meat that we can’t earn through our works. He gives it to us without us doing anything to deserve it; this food leads to eternal life and ensures that we’ll never perish.

Our external environment operates completely opposite from God. Contrary to the world’s monetary system based on money, God uses love as His currency. When Jesus came, He replaced the Law of Moses with God’s law of love; as Christians, this is the law we must live by. The law of love fills us up with everything we need until we reach the point where we overflow and the excess spills over onto others. Paying the debt of love changes lives and releases the power to transform people into His image.
Believers are called to live life on a higher plane. God has declared us righteous because we’ve been born again. This position of righteousness and holiness isn’t something we could ever earn; it’s a grace gift from Him that’s permanent and independent from anything we do. God appeals to us to display good conduct to match our status as members of His royal family by birth, which we received when we accepted His Son.
In a world where most people work hard to earn God’s blessings, all we need to do is to accept and believe in His finished works. We’ve already been blessed and accepted as members of God’s royal family; this happens automatically when we get born again. He has given us undeserved gifts because we are—and always will be—His beloved children, regardless of what we do. Faith in what Jesus did for us on the cross enables us to continually bring our earthly walk closer in tune with God’s will for us.
